Jay is a hometown product who grew up at PCOC. He graduated from the local high school in 1991, then went Mid-Atlantic Christian University and graduated with a BA in 1995. He came "home" to us in 2016 after several successful ministries in North Carolina and Indiana. He is married to Libby and they have two daughters.

Ric Watford
Associate Minister
Richard “Ric” Watford is a native of eastern North Carolina and has spent more than 50 years serving Christ and His Church through preaching, teaching, youth ministry, and pastoral care. A 1977 graduate of Mid-Atlantic Christian University with a B.A. in Biblical Studies, Ric has served congregations in North Carolina, Virginia, and Florida, including established churches and two church plants.
Since 2023, Ric has served as Pastor of Gospel Light Church of Christ. During that time, his love for the people of Gospel Light and his desire to see the church make a greater Kingdom impact have helped lead to this exciting new chapter of ministry with Plymouth.
As Ric begins serving with the Plymouth church family, he brings a special passion for pastoral care, building relationships, helping people become connected, preaching and teaching God’s Word, and helping people of all ages know and follow Jesus Christ. His desire is not simply to fill a position, but to be a pastor who knows people, walks with them through life, and helps them find their place in the life and ministry of the church.
Ric and his wife, Wanda, were married in 2018. They enjoy traveling together, and Ric also enjoys reading, college sports and, especially, time with his children and grandchildren.
Ric is grateful that God has opened the door to a new season of ministry rather than simply the conclusion of an old one. He looks forward to getting to know the Plymouth church family, serving alongside Pastor Jay and the leadership, and discovering together what God has ahead.
